Boyd Industries will acquire an ear, nose, and throat equipment brand called SMR from Global Surgical to create a synergy between dentistry and otolaryngology.
Design and manufacturing group Boyd Industries has announced the acquisition of SMR, a legacy brand of ENT equipment from Global Surgical. The SMR product line includes exam chairs, microscopes, and treatment cabinets, and will combine with Boyd Industries’ prolific line of dental equipment and products, according to a press release from Boyd Industries.
This acquisition was done to meet the needs of the patients suffering from Odontogenic sinusitis, a condition that intersects between dental and ENT. This synergy will help serve patients better, according to CEO of Boyd Industries Adrian LaTrace.
“Our products are made in the U.S.A. and feature the highest quality craftsmanship using revolutionary manufacturing methods that offer superior durability and prove reliability,” LaTrace says in the press release. “The solution for growing markets in both ENT and dentistry requires solid equipment to aid professionals and their practices with the personalized products they need to focus on providing state-of-the-art patient care.”
